Description

Project explanation here: [link]
Quick version: Kind of an "A is for Apple" for Quenya in Tengwar. Only more complicated. Inspired by a Japanese card game.

Or: Further Fun and Edifying Stories For Elvish Kidlets. Foundering islands! Burning ships! The original cliffhanger! Perhaps this game shouldn't be played just before bedtime?

I guess I don't have as much commentary as usual this time, as these are pretty much all self-explanatory. Oh, wait! There's something after all.
Malta, "gold" (the second one) was really stupid because while I could've thought of a lot of sentences to do with "gold" the colour, I couldn't really think of anything with "gold" the metal (except for the Nauglamir, but there are already too many Silmarils in this game, or something else with Dwarves, but I used those for the tinco card already). In English it wouldn't matter, but alas, the Elves use a completely different word for the colour "gold" (laurë). So that would've been no good.
In the end I went with Aulë liking copper better than gold, which at least gave me a chance to use a Quenya case that so far nobody knew when to use: the so-called respective. I think it's perfect for comparisons (i.e. looking at something with respect to something else), so there. No idea whether Aulë really did like copper better than gold. The dwarves did, and I suppose they must've inherited that from someone, so I think it works.

Speaking of copper, there seems to have been some copper salt or something in the paint the Teleri used for the swan-face, hence the green flames.

Also, note how Maedhros kindly wears a loin-cloth. That is not actually in deference to Elvish kiddies and their sensibilities - for all we know, Elves were likely nowhere near as prude as some people seem to think natural, but this is a different rant I held at a different time - but actually in deference to my inability to depict any kind of anatomy properly, including (but not limited to) reproductive anatomy, and especially my inability to decide just what exactly "well-shaped" (Maedhros' Quenya mother-name, Maitimo, means "well-shaped one") would mean in this particular context. Terribly subjective, that!
*embarrassed coughing*
I used "Angband" even though I depicted Thangorodrim because there's no Quenya equivalent for the Sindarin name "Thangorodrim", and it's difficult to isolate the different elements of the word which would be needed for coming up with a translation of my own. There is an official Quenya word for Angband, Angamando, so that was easier. (And yes, the -mando element is the same you find in "Mandos"...)

And let me again reiterate that "torment" is a really stupid name for a letter. Especially if that letter was invented in (supposedly) torment-free Aman. Whyyyyy? The mind of Fëanor, I do not get it.

[Fëanor: Try pronouncing 'ngw' and YOU'LL KNOW WHY.]

Oh, and I'll use this chance to invite y'all to pronounce "Noldor" correctly. (And only use the plural when you really mean more than one of 'em, pls.)

Anyway!
Tengwar 17-20. númen ([n] - west, malta [m] - gold, ngoldo ([ŋ] - well, um, Noldo) and ngwalme ([ŋw] - torment).
Scenes/ sentences are (supposed to be):
17: The island that fell down was in the west.
18: More than gold, Aulë loves copper.
19: The Noldor of the house of Fëanor burned the swan-ships.
20: Maedhros suffered torment in Angband.

And that's that.
Hm. Is there enough blood for a "mature" rating, or not? I am so very bad at rating my stuff.

I don't see enough blood for a warning. To pronounce 'ngw', d'you mean w=the hard u/oo sound, or w= wuh, like 'wobbly'? That changes the difficulty.
