Savannah Storm

We went to Namibia in February because we figured late summer would be a nice time. And it was. What nobody told us is that February is the rainy month. That basically means that you can expect at least one heavy shower per day. It also means that all the "perennial rivers" fill up, which in turn means that the roads are flooded because nobody bothers with building a bridge when the river only exists one month per year anyway.
The only travellers who go to Namibia in February, it seems, are Germans and South Africans. Most lodges are empty or next to empty.
But even with occasional rainfalls it's a beautiful country.
