When the meteorologists announced a couple of weeks ago that there would be no snow (again!) this winter, the entire winter, I was pretty much immediately convinced that we'd get at least one week of proper snow. If they hadn't said a thing, I would just have hoped for it, but after that announcement, I just knew there would be snow. (I guess that's some very deeply ingrained mistrust of meteorology, huh? Or just of long-term predictions.)
Sure enough, as soon as the primary Christmas holidays were over... we woke up to a minor snowstorm. The storm stopped towards afternoon; the snow stayed. Then yesterday was beautifully, brightly sunny, so we went for a walk in the woods. I loved this almost-tunnel through the low-hanging branches, although the picture doesn't really do it justice -- I don't know how to adapt the pic in order to add depth, I guess. Oh well! Still pretty, I hope.
